Frequently Asked Questions

The Maricopa IT Institute (MITI) is a workforce training and education center that partners with the ten Maricopa Community Colleges to deliver customized workforce solutions.

Although the student is enrolled at a Maricopa college, MITI is not a college itself, it’s a program that leverages the resources of the colleges in collaboration with industry to enhance the student’s career readiness

Non-credit course prices vary. Credit courses are $97 per credit hour plus a one-time $15 application fee to enroll.

Our courses tend to be accelerated to help our students with reskilling and up-skilling. We offer morning courses, evening courses, 5, 8, 14, and 16-week courses. We also have self-paced online courses.

Courses offered through the institute equip students with the resources and skills needed for employment, including resume and interview preparation, professional workforce training, industry-recognized certifications, LinkedIn profile development, and access to industry connections and job screenings

All college credit courses will appear on your transcript.

Our workforce ecosystem delivers experience-based apprenticeships, internships, industry tours, and mentors to its students. MITI offers employee readiness and workforce professional skill training, recruitment connections, and facilitation of interviews with industry partners.

There are many funding opportunities through MITI. Students may apply for the following: grants, WIOA, scholarships, and financial aid.

Courses offered in a variety of times, online offerings, onsite, credit and non-credit, hands-on training, and workshops in convenient locations. Credit and fast track bearing coursework with hybrid and accelerated seat time, non-credit soft skills, assessments, and lab time are also available for hands-on training.

The BILT (Business and Industry Leadership Team) model engages employers as co-leaders of college technical programs, giving them a direct role in shaping the future knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) graduates will need 12–36 months ahead. Unlike traditional advisory councils, which often take a passive role, BILT members actively contribute as subject matter experts to ensure curriculum aligns with real workforce needs. Industry values this model because they are directly contributing to the training of their potential future employees.

We are a Certiport PearsonVue testing center.

The institute works directly with the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) and its colleges to pilot and test new initiatives, ensuring students receive industry-aligned training that meets workforce demands.
