Business Certificate Programs
The City of Mesa has partnered with Mesa Community College (MCC) to offer and fund a variety of college classes to participants in the Mesa Business Builder Small Business Assistance Program. These courses cover essential business topics to help employees develop new skills and enhance their business acumen.
Participants can choose from 12 business certificate programs at MCC, including:
- Accounting
- Administrative Professional
- Adobe Animations and Graphics
- General Business
- Entrepreneurial Studies I
- Entrepreneurial Studies II
- Management
- Marketing
- Oral Communication Fluency for Non-Native English Speakers
- Organizational Leadership
- Social Media Marketing
- Spanish Language and Culture
How to Enroll
Before enrolling in college classes, you must register for the Mesa Business Builder Small Business Assistance Program at Mesa HUUB.

About the Program
Program Availability
The program opens for the fall term on August 19, 2023, and continues until funding is fully depleted or June 30, 2024, whichever comes first. It is offered to qualified, approved businesses based on funding availability.
Eligibility and Funding
- Tuition and course fees are covered by the program on a first-come, first-served basis.
- A participating business is responsible for MCC registration fees, books, and materials.
- Students must be legal Maricopa County residents* for tuition purposes.
- Businesses must select an eligible Certificate of Completion program at MCC.
*Residency for tuition purposes is determined according to Arizona state law (ARS §§15-1801 et seq.) and Maricopa Community Colleges Governing Board regulations. Out-of-state students do not qualify for this program.
Enrollment and Class Registration Limits
- Maximum of two students per business per term.
- Maximum of two classes per student per term.
